Two bodies found in woods indentified

HOT SPRING COUNTY, Ark. (KTHV) - The two bodies found in the woods in Hot Spring County Friday have been identified.

According to Chief Deputy Kim Hall, Robert and Anna Walton were discovered dead, and both appeared to have been shot in the head. Hall confirmed that their deaths were the result of a murder/suicide, though he does not know who shot who.

He said the Waltons were married, and Robert Walton did have a history with law enforcement. Hall wasn't sure which department he had a history with, but knew Walton did have prior arrests, and his fingerprints from those arrests are how police were able to identify him.

HOT SPRING COUNTY, Ark. (KTHV) -- Investigators continue to look into the deaths of two people found in the woods of Hot Spring County.

Investigators from the Hot Spring County Sheriff's Department said the crux of this case hinges on the identity of the man and the woman found in the woods.

Authorities tell THV 11 both were shot in the head and both are believed to be in their 40s or 50s, and authorities think the two were trail riding in the area and were in a relationship together.

Sergeant Jeremy Bennett told THV11 that teenagers riding four-wheelers off of Spot Efird Road came across the two bodies on Friday; authorities found a gun and a vehicle at the scene.

"We're going to follow every lead until we find out exactly what happened. The evidence is going to answer a lot of that question," said Sgt. Jeremy Bennett. "A lot of that we won't know until we get stuff back from the crime lab and the medical the examiner's office."

Today's Box Office: Gatsby!

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- THV 11 Film Critic Jonathan Nettles on Baz Luhrmann's The Great Gatsby.

In my younger days, I was required to read a novel.

"It's the great American novel," said my 11th-grade English teacher.

I recall that at the time, I gave it my best effort. I think The Great Gatsby may have been one of the few assigning reading materials that I actually read all the way through.

If I saw a youngster of high school age in line to buy a ticket to 2013's visually stunning Baz Luhmann directed The Great Gatsby, I'd encourage him to save $10, go to the library and get the true version for free.
